Lionel Dobie Project welcomes you to take part in Planetary Dance, hosted by Juliet Davis.

Devised by American Choreographer, Anna Halprin, Planetary Dance is performed at the same time every year in different cities, and is now in its 33rd year of happening. The dance consists of a walk in concentric circles, where anybody can join at any time, and it lasts approximately 1 hour. This dance celebrates a possible unity in humanity and a group energy which can be created with a simple score which leaves space for the participant to dive into the movement of planets.

Juliet first experienced this dance in Rennes, France (during a workshop about “Unison” by “Collectif Danse Rennes Métropole” in the danse space “le Garage”), and would like to present it as a gift to Manchester as part of the Manchester | Rennes Exchange (M | R), of which Juliet is a member. M | R is an on-going project that will result in a contemporary art exchange between Rennes, and Manchester, school of art graduates.
