The Artist 2.0 is real.  He is flesh and bone.  He is a lot of things - contradictions mostly - the snobbish hipster who believes that things that are broken are beautiful.  Kind of like the archetypal dorkbot in Alan Ball’s over-rated Best Picture Oscar Winner from 1999, American Beauty.  You remember that kid? I think his real name is Wes or something along those lines.  Well he’s probably a post-millennial version of that teengager cum young adult.  Sipping coffees in the evening at the Anthony Burgess Foundation’s slick cafe and making mobile phone art on the train when he can actually bother to make it to his art school in Lancaster - a programme that he got into only because his father is a tenured member of staff within the department.
